behind the Lens

Quiet presence. International work.

I’m David Rickenbach, a wedding photographer based in Winterthur, Switzerland — working across Switzerland and selected European destinations.

Stillness, intention, and the in-between.

Most meaningful moments are rarely the loudest ones. I photograph the in-between: atmosphere, rhythm, restraint — and the quiet gestures that hold a celebration together.

My work is editorial in composition and documentary in truth: refined, cohesive, and never forced. I don’t direct stories. I witness them — with care, clarity, and a calm eye for what truly matters.

WHAT GUIDES MY WORK

A quiet foundation.

My approach is rooted in respect, responsibility, and a deep sense of purpose. I work best where trust and clarity create space for genuine moments to unfold naturally.

My Christian faith is a personal anchor in my life. It quietly shapes how I show up — with humility, gratitude, and a commitment to treat people and moments with dignity.

This perspective influences the way I move through a wedding day: attentive, unobtrusive, and fully present — protecting what is intimate, and documenting what is true.

How I Work

Calm direction. Honest observation.

You can expect a calm presence — never performative, never intrusive. I observe first, guide only when it truly serves the moment, and keep the experience seamless for you and your planner.

Discreet coverage

Presence without pressure. Space to feel the day rather than perform it.

Planner-aligned

Clear communication, timeline awareness, calm collaboration throughout the weekend.

Editorial finish

A cohesive story, refined selection, and a timeless finish that reads like one narrative.

THE WORLD I PHOTOGRAPH

Atmosphere, detail, and rhythm.

I’m drawn to celebrations with character — villas, castles, grand hotels, and places near water. The story often lives in the details: texture, light, and the quiet intention behind the design.

When it fits the atmosphere, I include selected 35mm black & white film — for softer edges, deeper texture, and a quieter rhythm within the story.

A note from clients

“David’s calm presence made the entire day feel effortless. We could be fully present — and still trust that everything meaningful was captured.”— Couple, Switzerland
